SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA, November 4, 2023 - In accordance with Title II of the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the City of South Lake Tahoe is updating its American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan for City-owned buildings, parks, public rights-of-way, and City programs and services.
The City selected Bureau Veritas Technical Assessments to develop the updated ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan, and the draft document is now complete. The Plan identifies barriers to accessibility, methods for improving access, establishes a schedule for removing ADA barriers, and involves public outreach during preparation of the Plan. The Plan will provide a strategic approach and recommendations for continued access improvements as the City implements its updated ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan over the coming years.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR DRAFT ADA SELF-EVALUATION AND TRANSITION PLAN
The City of South Lake Tahoe is seeking public comment on its Draft ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan document during a 30-day period, which begins on November 4, 2023, and concludes on December 4, 2023.
