Special Event Rentals
As of April 20, 2021, The City will be reviewing special event applications with modification.
All applicants must comply with the current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) COVID-19 Industry Guidance.
All applications must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the event.
Addendum to Special Event Application
All event applicants shall be required to submit a written attachment in addition to the standard application outlining public safety protocols for their specific event.

Special Event Rentals - General Information
The City Parks and Recreation facilities are ideal locations to host your private or public event. Beach front locations with Lake Tahoe as a back drop are perfect to capture beautiful wedding photos. The Recreation Complex offers a variety of rooms and outdoor amenities to host a family gathering or celebration for private events. Lakeview Commons at El Dorado Beach is popular for public special events and fundraisers of all types. Additional park amenities with covered gazebos, BBQ’s and playgrounds are available to make your next special event a memorable one.

What is a Private Event?
"Private Events" are defined as an event that is open only to your invited guests such as a wedding, family gathering, or private celebration.

What is a Public Event?
“Public Events” are defined by events that are open to the public with or without an entrance fee, may have vendors and/or serve food and are publicly advertised. All public events are subject to completing the City Special Event Application and adhering to Special Event Guidelines and Special Event Timeline.

Special Events Guidelines, Application and Timeline
ALL public events being proposed on City Property must submit a special event application. The application helps City Staff understand details about your event and determine what City ordinances may apply. Applications are accepted no earlier than 6 months prior to the event and no later than 90 days prior to the event.
