Fire Prevention

No Open Burning

The City of South Lake Tahoe does not allow any open burning within the City limits. The exceptions to this are gas fireplaces and BBQ’s that use either LP or natural gas, charcoal, and Pellet BBQ's, such as a Traeger are acceptable.

NO BURNING OF WOOD, LEAVES, PINE NEEDLES, YARD WASTE OR BRUSH.

All new construction and business inspections are conducted by the City’s Fire Inspector, who works out of 1052 Tata Lane within the Building Department.

The Fire Inspector Dan Brown can be reached at 530-542-6019 or dbrown@cityofslt.us
