This year, Barton Health and the City of South Lake Tahoe have combined Barton's "Family Health Day" ad the Bijou Bash," to create the inaugural Lake Tahoe Lifestyle Festival.

Emphasizing health, recreation and fun, this spectacular day will be held on Saturday, September 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bijou Community Park.  Local vendors, educators, physician, and outdoor and indoor sports enthusiasts, will be on hand and to promote overall wellness; including nutrition, exercise, children's health and safety; environmental education, sports and recreation in the Lake Tahoe region.  Special events will include a guided mountain bike tour for older kids, a family forest trek and tasty food...just to name a few!

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Adult Mountain Bike Clinic/Tour
(Sponsored by Tahoe Center for Orthopedics and LTCC)
This workshop is for young adults/adults ages 13+.  Riders of all abilities will practice 45 minutes of on-bike skills and drills followed by a hour trail ride. Registration at the LTCC booth near the Kids Zone at 9:30am.

11 a.m. to Noon - Nature Appreciation Walk
(Sponsored by Tahoe Resource Conservation District)
Enjoy a walk from Bijou Park and through the forest. Headed through LTCC's demonstration garden and down to the river, participants will learn about native plants, water conservation and appreciating Tahoe's natural environment. Don’t be late! Meet at the Welcome Booth at the Festival by 10:50 a.m.

1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Kids Mountain Biking
(Sponsored by Tahoe Center for Orthopedics and LTCC)
This workshop if for kids ages 8-12.  Riders of all abilities will learn the basics of mountain biking, safety and bike maintenance while making some new friends and exploring great trail in our Bijou area.  Registration at the LTCC booth in the Kids Zone at 12:30pm.
