South Lake Tahoe, CA- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through tomorrow. More snow and more rain are possible raising concerns about flooding.

“Our crews are out and ready to respond to drainage issues as they pop-up,” said Jim Marino, Asst. Public Works Director, “We know rain and snow can cause drainage issues and flooding problems, but we’re ready.”

Remember, the city has two locations open for people to come to get sandbags if they need them. Today is the day to do that.

  • City Public Works Yard, 1160 Rufus Allen Blvd.
  • Fire Station 3, 2101 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

If you need assistance, please call one of the numbers below.

  • The City of South Lake Tahoe's snow removal phone line is (530) 542-6030.
  • For County residents, the snow removal phone number is (530) 573-3180.

Don’t forget the city has an online portal for assistance after hours too.

Blowers are out in the Gardner Mountain area finishing up widening operations today. When crews are finished there, the entire city has been cleared and widened from the previous storms we’ve had. Just in time for another round of winter weather.

“It’s been a very snowy winter around here,” said Chris Fiore, Communications Manager, “As the storms keep moving in, we want everyone to do their part to stay safe and warm.”
